Interact Club Instalation at Jain Vidhyalaya School, Madurai

On 23rd July 09 , our President Rtn CR Chandran installed the new office bearers of INTERACT CLUB of Jain Vidhyalaya, Thiruppalai. The following Rtns were present: Rtn R.Meenakshi Sundaram, Rtn R.Rajagopal, Rtn Damodharan, Rtn Rajesh Kanna.

Rotaract Club Installation at Sermathai Vasan College, Madurai

The installation function of the new President and the team of office bearers of the Rotaract Club at Sermathai vasan College took place on 22.07.09. Miss.S.Praba who attended our RYLA 2008 is the new President along with Miss.R.R.Deepika as the Secretary. Our President Rtn.C.R.Chandran adorned the collar to the new President and offered the keynote address. He gave vital tips for the younger generation thereby making to realize that they are future pillars of this country. Rtn.T.Ravee offered felicitations and stressed the need and importance of being a member of such clubs. Rtn.R.Rajagopal as usual was the key person in organizing the function with the assistance of Rtn.Rajesh Kanna, Director Service Projects. The Principal Dr.s.Kousalya appreciated the good efforts of our club and Mr.N.Siva Subramani, the President of the management team of the College gave inputs to the students to realize their ambitions and to serve the society to their best possible efforts. Miss.P.Yogalakshmi & Miss.M.Lavanya, the staff of the Institution were the co-ordinators for the programme.

First Intercity Meeting : Lots of Uniqueness

On 3-July-2009, lots of "First's" happened at Madurai at the District level Intercity meet.

1. This is the first Intercity Meet of RI District 3000 after the New District Governor Rtn.A.Purushothaman took over office.
2. This is the first public meeting attended and addressed by Rtn.K.R.Ravindran after he took over as Rotary International Director
3. The very first meet of District 3000 and RI Director is organized by Rotary Club of Madurai WEST.

Mr K.R. Ravi in his speech quoted many statistics and comparisons. The Rotary Foundation is the top most charitable foundation on earth, as of now. Even those who are not members of any Rotary club have donated profuselely to TRF because of their trust on the functioning of TRF and Rotary Internatinal. Mrs Rajshree Birla and the I.T tycoon Mr Bill Gates of Microsoft are among them.
R.I through TRF, aims to concentrate on projects concerning 6 major issues
and among them are water and world peace.

Rtn.PP.RM.Subramanian, Chairman of the Intercity meet, made the event a grand success. The meet was well attended with over 200 delegates from various cities. A Rotary song was sung by the students of Mahathma Montessori School.

It is a Good start for the New Rotary Year and for the Rotary Club of Madurai West. Congrats.

Installation of Interact Club @ Mahatma School, Madurai on 15-July-2009

The Interact Club of Mahatma Montessorie Hr.Sec School ( BABA Building) was installed on 15-July-2009, in the presence of our President C.R.Chandran and Secretary Rtn.R.Meenakshi Sundaram. Rtn.Sakthivel felicitated the president and Secretary of the newly installed Interact Club. Coordinator of the club Rtn.Rajagopal and Director-Service Projects Rtn.Rajesh Kanna were present at the Meeting.

AR.Shiaron Nivedegha took over as the President of Interact Club. J.Sankar Kumar took over as the Vice President and C.Narendran took over as the secretary.

Installation Function : 4th July 2009

Rtn.C.R.Chandran took over as the 45th President of The Rotary Club of Madurai West on 4th July 2009 at Madurai. Rtn.PDG.AS.Venkatesh (Dist 3230) was the chief Guest. District Governor Rtn.A.Purushothaman (RI Dist 3000) graced the function with his assistant governor Rtn.Dr.Gurusundar. The installation function was graced by lots of Rotarians, Rotary Anns and friends.

Rtn.C.R.Chandran took over the mantel from Immediate Past President Rtn.DL.Viswanathan. Rtn.R.Meenakshisundaram is the new secretary of our club.

Projects Carried out on the Installation Day:

1. Membership Development Director Rtn.A.Jegapathirajan announced the new members to be inducted.
2. Chief Guest Rtn.AS.Venkatesh handed over an artificial hand (donated by Rtn.Rajesh Kanna) to Mr.A.Kumar
3. Rtn.Khursheed Ahmed donated a sum of Rs.12,500 to a girl student Ms.Chamundeeswari
4. Rtn.Gurusundar, Assistant Governor fitted a Caliper to a needy person.
   A Steel Almirah ( sponsored by Rtn.S.Ramachandran & Rtn. Keisel Kitchley) was donated to Maria Montessori School.
5. Rtn.PP.Manimozhiyan felicitated the new team.
