Rtn. R. Theenachandran : District Governor 2015-2016

He was born in the year 1955 & graduated in Masters in Agriculture from Tamilnadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore in the year 1978.

He is basically a coffee planter & turned to be an Industrialist by establishing his Business enterprises at  Madurai. He is the Chairman & Managing Director of companies viz. Devi Cropscience Pvt Ltd, Devi Biotech Pvt Ltd, Devi Irrigation Systems Pvt Ltd, Devi Plasto Pack Pvt Ltd & Devi Plantations Pvt Ltd, involved in the manufacturing & marketing of various agricultural inputs like chemical pesticides, biological pesticides, specialty fertilizers, micro irrigation products, plastic containers, coffee plantation etc.

They are also in export to a number of countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America & Australia. He is a frequent international traveler & visited almost all the important countries.

He was the President of Tamilnadu Pesticides Manufacturers Association, Vice President of Federation of Pesticides Manufacturers Associations of South India & General Secretary of Tamilnadu Agro-Input Traders Association. He is an active member of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII-Madurai chapter), Madurai District Small Scale Industries Association, Tamilnadu Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Lodge Pandyan, Tamilnadu Golf Federation, Chennai, Madras Race Club, Kodaikanal Club, Planters Club, Union Club etc.

His significant achievements and awards in his profession are,

1. Best Industry Award twice by the Government of Tamilnadu.
2. Secured the International Patent for their product.
3. Having business presence in 24 states in our country through own branches and networking with more than 5000 direct dealers and serving more than 3 million farmers.
4. Exporting to more than 20 countries and work is in progress in many other countries.
5. A first generation entrepreneur.

He joined Rotary in the year 1995 as a charter member of Rotary Club of Madurai Metro & became the President for the year 1998-99. He has held different positions in Rotary such as the District Chairman for the Annual Programs Fund (APF) for Rotary Foundation, Chairman for the District Assembly for the year 2010-11, District Chairman for Foundation Fund Raising Committee, Chairman for the District Foundation Seminar for the year 2011-12 and Chairman for the District Team Training Seminar (DTTS) for year 2012-13.

His Rotary achievements:

1. As President, conceived and implemented an ongoing permanent project for the Club – Old Age Home for the destitute old women of this area. This project is progressing well as on date.

2. As Chair, Annual Programs Fund (2010-2011), raised more than USD 600,000 for the TRF. Was instrumental in the successful implementation of the “Child for Child’ a fund raiser program of our District for contribution to polio fund.

He is a Major Donor. He is married to R’Ann Vasanthi & blessed with 3 children Priti, Deepthi & Utham. His wife Vasanthi is a B.A graduate and helps him in Business. Priti completed MCA and MBA (Aus) and got married & settled in Singapore. Deepthi completed B.E and MBA (Aus) and got married & settled in UK and Utham is doing B.E (Agriculture & Irrigation) in Anna University, Chennai.

Rtn.Ravi Parthasarathy was born in 1974 to Shri S.RENGA RAJAN and Smt G.N.DEVI RANI

Rtn.Sundaravel hails from Tuticorin.

He has done his post-graduation in Commerce from A.M.JAIN College, Chennai. He is one of the promoters and the whole-time director of INDIAN FOODS PRIVATE LIMITED- manufacturers of biscuits for Britannia in Madurai for the last three decades. They also import and market bakery and food industry machines in India and sell some creative baked products in their own brand names.

He has attended management training programme in IIT, Ahmedabad, a certificate course in chocolates in Singapore and another in Cakes manufacturing at American Institute of Baking, Kansas City, USA.

He is an active Freemason for over 30 years. He served as Assistant Regional Grand Master of the Regional Grand Lodge of Southern India for the Year 2008 for the Madurai Area. He is a Past President of Junior Chamber International Madurai.

He continued to be an active Rotarian for the Past 32 years in Rotary Club of Madurai West.

He is married to Mrs. Vasantham and the couple has a son and a daughter. Both of them are married. They have two grand children.
